Thieves is a hybrid electronic album that pays homage to the atmospheric, sequencer-driven instrumental synthesizer music of the 1980s, drawing deep inspiration from Tangerine Dream's seminal works including "Exit," "Hyperborea," "White Eagle," the live album "Poland," and most notably their driving soundtrack to Michael Mann's "Thief." But also artists such as Synergy, Klaus Schulze, Cluster and others from that era.
Rather than attempting to recreate the impossible-to-replicate analog warmth of vintage equipment, this collection embraces the brooding, layered soundscapes of that era, while forging its own path through a unique collaboration between human composition and AI-assisted creation.
The album captures that distinctly dark, cosmic atmosphere of early electronic music while incorporating subtle rhythmic complexities—shifting meters and evolving time signatures that reward careful listening. This album seeks to honor the spirit of electronic music's golden age while exploring new territory through the hybrid creative process of human artistry enhanced by artificial intelligence (yes, there is irony in the title, by purpose).
This album can be listened to on any number of the usual platforms, click here for more.

Tangerine Dream is alive and well today under the leadership of Thorsten Quaeschning, who pay great respect to founding Tangerine Dream members from that era, specifically Edgar Froese, Christoph Franke, Johanes Schmoelling and previously Peter Baumann. here is their website.
